Welcome to Shamgar Ben-Eliyahu’s neuro-immunology lab at the Sagol School of Neuroscience and School of Psychological Sciences, Tel-Aviv University, Israel
Our lab focuses on the complex relationships between stress, the endocrine system, the immune system, and cancer progression, in both animals and humans. We also study unique anti-metastatic leukocyte populations, and their inherent special ability to destroy tumor cells.
An ongoing and future major focus of our lab is the COMPIT trial – a clinical trial in colorectal cancer patients aimed at reducing cancer recurrence and metastasis after surgery, currently recruiting in Sheba Medical Center, at Tel-Hashomer, Israel.
Each student leads her/his own research project – but collaboration and team-work are integral to our work and are very common in the lab.
