She studies organizations, work, law,\ninequality and diversity across national, organizational and economic contexts.\nHer book with Frank Dobbin,&nbsp;<i>Getting to Diversity: What Works and What\nDoesn\u2019t<\/i>, was published in 2022 by Harvard University Press (Belknap),\noffering an evidence-based approach to managing diversity in corporations. She now\nexamines diversity innovations in universities as well as faculty hiring,\nlayoff and retirement dynamics across routine and crises periods.&nbsp; In\nother research projects, Kalev studies age inequality at work, and the\nemployment integration of Palestinians in Israel.<br>\n          <br> Kalev\u2019s research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Edmond\nJ. Safra Foundation, the Sloan Foundation, the Israeli Science Foundation, the\nBi-National Science Foundation, and the Israeli Ministry of Science. Her work\nhas been published in the American Sociological Review, the American Journal of\nSociology, Administrative Science Quarterly, Law and Social Inquiry,\nSociological Science, Work, Employment and Society and the Harvard Business\nReview among others and was covered extensively in popular media outlets such\nas the Economist, NewYork Times, and Washington Post. Her research article on\nrestructuring and diversity, \u201cCracking the Glass Cages,\u201d won the W. Richard\nScott award of the American Sociological Association section on Organizations\nOccupations and Work. Kalev received the 2026 Landau Prize in the Sciences and\nArts in the field of sociology.<br> Kalev is the chair-elect of the Israeli Sociological Association (to begin in\nSeptember 2026). She is also a member of the Advisory Committee to the Israeli\nEqual Employment Opportunity Commission and since 2016 has been publishing\nannually the Israeli Diversity Index in collaboration with the Israeli EEOC and\nthe Central Bureau of Statistics.
