Anastasia Gorodzeisky is a Full Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University, Israel.<\/p>\n

Gorodzeisky\u2019s main research interests lie in the areas of global migration and migrant integration; cross-national comparative sociology, public attitudes towards migrants and migration; and politics of knowledge in migration field.<\/p>\n

She received M.A. in Journalism from the Ural State University, Russia, and M.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from Tel Aviv University, Israel. Trained as a sociologist, Gorodzeisky earned her Ph.D. (2009) from Tel-Aviv University and spent three years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (CEACS) at Juan March Institute, Madrid, Spain.  She has been a recipient of the Yigal Alon Fellowship for Outstanding Young Researchers (Council for Higher Education, Israel). <\/p>\n

Before joining the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of Tel Aviv University, Gorodzeisky also held a regular academic appointment in the Department of Social Work at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Gorodzeisky was a visiting scientist in the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychology at the University of Cologne,  Germany (April, 2024). Since August 2025, she has served as Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University.<\/p>\n

Currently, Gorodzeisky serves as an Editorial Board Member for Social Forces<\/span>, Social Science Research<\/span> and International Journal of Public Opinion Research<\/span>. \n <\/p>\n
