Prof. Anastasia Gorodzeisky is currently the head of the International M.A. program in Migration Studies and a faculty member in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Gorodzeisky’s main research interests lie in the areas of global migration and immigrant integration; cross-national comparative sociology, public attitudes towards immigrants and immigration; and intergroup relations.
She received M.A. in Journalism from the Ural State University, Russia, and M.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from Tel Aviv University, Israel. Trained as a sociologist, Gorodzeisky earned her Ph.D. (2009) from Tel-Aviv University and spent three years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Center for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (CEACS) at Juan March Institute, Madrid, Spain. She has been a recipient of Yigal Alon Fellowship for Outstanding Young Researchers (Council for Higher Education, Israel).
Before joining the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of Tel Aviv University, Gorodzeisky also held a regular academic appointment in the Department of Social Work at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel.
Anastasia Gorodzeisky serves currently as an Editorial Board Member for Social Forces, Social Science Research and International Journal of Public Opinion Research.
