I am Associate Professor of Sociology at Tel Aviv University, Head of the BMI Demography Lab, and core faculty member at the Herczeg Institute on Aging. I received my PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and was a postdoctoral fellow at the London School of Economics, prior to joining Tel Aviv University in 2016.
As a sociologist and demographer specializing in population health, I study the social determinants of longevity and inequality in human life spans. My research appeared in leading scientific journals including Science, JAMA, and Demography.
My other research interests include environmental demography, sociology of knowledge and data production, and quantitative methodology. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on both theory (Theories of Social Stratification and Inequality, Quantification and Social Knowledge) and methods (Big Data for Social Science, Hierarchical and Longitudinal Data Analysis).
